I have light oak bedroom furniture and when I first got it I used the wax recommended and sold by the manufacturer. It was so difficult and messy to use that I hadn't bothered since. But I was beginning to see the need to nurture the wood somehow so I looked online and came across this product. As it was highly recommended from other reviews I gave it a try and I am SO happy I did. First of all it EASY to use. It has the consistency and feel of a good quality hand cream and it absorbs easily without leaving marks or dark stains (I used the neutral polish on light oak). It took me a little more than an hour to do bed, 2 bedside tables and 1 set of drawers. It had previously taken me half a day to do the same work. The furniture was left with a beautiful natural sheen, a healthy glow almost. I also applied on two small sets of drawers that I have in each bathroom, one of them is a really cheap pine set of drawers from IKEA which was transformed as it was gotten rid of all the marks and stains of everyday use. Very economical too: on all of the above I used half a jar. Plus, it does not have the intensive chemical smell of other products. I applied it after I came back from work one day and left the bedroom window open for an hour. After this you couldn't really detect any smell at all. Overall, really well deserved 5 stars for this product. I have already placed my next order, 1 jar for my mother and another one just so that I don't run out... :-)

Been using this product for many years and have recommended it to many people. It does have a strong smell, which is the turpentine, but it not only enhances furniture but protects it as well. It can be used on both varnished and unvarnished furniture. On bare wood, especially if it dry, apply it with super fine wire wool going along the grain. The finish it produces it nothing short of miraculous. Every nuance of the grain shows up, the colour of the wood deepens ever so slightly and a layer, not dissimilar to clear varnish, develops after a few applications. With varnish apply sparingly. I've found an old washing up sponge is useful to get into any carving or difficult areas. I've even used this on japanned and painted furniture. It works well on those, not damaging the surface. The actual polishing is hard work but well worth the effort. Again go with grain it you can. Forget about dusters use a cotton cloth. Pieces of old cotton sheets are ideal as they can be thrown away after a polishing session as it is impossible to wash the polish off. Another useful tip is - always dust or clean first. I give my kitchen table a good wash down before I polish it. Go on give your furniture a treat! It may seem expensive but a little goes a very long way. You'll never regret buying this.

We have a large pine dresser in our dining room that had not had a clean for years and got quite dark and grubby. After removing the original polish with very fine wire wool and some methylated spirit (as recommended by a local carpenter we know - but check with a professional about this before trying that method out on your furniture, this polish went on very easily and now the dresser looks like new again. I made sure to use the polish very sparingly on one small area at a time, so working it in and buffing it after did not require too much effort at all. One coat was enough for the finish we wanted. There was a smell for a while applying the polish and for a while after, but I just left the window open during this work and for a couple of hours after and the smell was gone. I would recommend this product for similar work.

Following the purchase of a nice polished wood dining table from John Lewis I was determined to keep it in top condition. The retailer recommended a beeswax formulation polish and having looked at what was available I liked the description of this product and thought I would give it a go. I have had no reason to regret that decision. It has been used for over a year and gives first class results every time. Use sparingly and you will find that not a great deal of elbow grease is required to get the desired finish to your wood. The smell is a little unusual but it does not linger and is only from the natural solvent oil.

Easy to apply and a little goes a long way. I use this product on unvarnished doors and tables and it leaves a nice finish with a fresh aroma. I would recommend this polish.

After the initial smell of 'turpentine' dissipated the lovely smell of beeswax is left - best to use polish outside or with windows open, though doesn't take long for the smell to dissipate. Leaves a nice soft finish to the wood, soaks in really quickly and no oily feel or residue left. Yes, it does have warning labels on the jar as my partner pointed out but this is in reply to those concerned left by the company - I read this comment in a review of the same product in a smaller size: "It is a legal requirement that these warnings are included on the label as the polish contains Turpentine. Although this is a natural product (distilled pine sap), in its pure form it is flammable. Turpentine is the traditional and best solvent used in this type of polish and any polish containing Turpentine should have the same warnings."

Bought for mahogany grandfather clock which is a family heirloom, great smell, easy to apply, not a lot of work involved in buffing up, clock has come up as if new, also used on mahogany fire surround this also has come up with a really good finish after only one application far better than using spray polishes, cannot recommend this product highly enough would definately buy again, also great value for money.

The polish had separated in that its liquid ingredients had run to the bottom of the jar, and the less liquid were sitting on top of the liquid, after considerable shaking the polish seemed to have turned in to a lumpy porridge like mass. I presume if I continue to shake it I will have a useable polish however come summer I doubt it will solidify into a usable item
