So this kit has had some very mixed reviews… Mine arrived with incomplete instructions but an email to the makers got a reply with a complete pdf of the instructions the very next morning. Do not open the box expecting to get making straight off. You have to set up your “work station” first. I didn’t bother with the glue, I just pinned the cloth to the polystyrene “pillow” and it works fine like that. Then you need to “spangle” your bobbins. Will that take ages? If you haven’t done any jewellery making or beadwork before, maybe. If you have, not really. I don’t think crafters will find it too much of a chore. Can you manage without the spangles? Probably but the bobbins are easier to manage and control with the spangles because they are very lightweight and likely to jump around without. Are the bobbins amazing quality? Well, no. You will need to use your thumbnail to break off some little extra bits from the moulding. They are lightweight plastic. Having researched the cost of lace pillows and bobbins, you were certainly not going to get 24 beautifully turned wooden bobbins and a top notch pillow for this kind of money, so I’m not sure what people were expecting. If you take to lacemaking, then I suspect you will very quickly want to start buying the nice stuff. Will this kit get you started? Absolutely it will. On the other hand you could look up YouTube tutorials re lacemaking for beginners without equipment and get yourself started with a scatter cushion, some cardboard and some clothes pegs. The kit comes with the patterns, or prickings, to make a flower, a decorative band and a bookmark, so there’s plenty to do to get you familiar with the techniques and find out if you’re going to want to pursue lacemaking as a hobby The instructions are reasonably clear, but you do need to take time to read them carefully and give it some thought. It definitely helped that I had watched a couple of YouTubes for beginners before I started, but then it would, wouldn’t it! Some people have criticised the quality of the thread. It’s Anchor thread. For me, it’s fine. However you do need to take care winding thread off the skein to avoid tangles. This is true of any type of thread or yarn in a skein. Overall I’d say the kit isn’t bad, if you have realistic expectations. Is it expensive for what you get? Well, maybe. If you don’t want to spend money trying out a new hobby, go the YouTube route. If you do buy the kit, be aware that it won’t set you up with all you need for a lifetime of lacemaking, but it will give you a taste of it, get you started and give you chance to decide if you want to invest in some quality equipment.

colour of "wool" not quite match the description. mostly pink-ish which did not resemble colour of lavender. so i cannot follow the pattern as shown on the amazon listing. Also I don't see any part of the picture has peach colour although the "wool" quality is quite good, it's painful to find other colour to complete my project to make it like lavender. the sponge is not good and sunk before I finished half of it the needle is just OK. First one broke fairly quickly and the second one last till I finish the whole project

Bought to make with my 14.year old grandchild. Instructions easy to follow. We used half of the soap block and made all four moulds and there was enough for two extra (we used the plastic bun containers). We added extra suitable flowers from the garden, plus some of the supplied seeds and dried flowers. All six soaps set and turned out easily and looked very pretty. We tried one and it foamed up nicely and felt good on the skin. There was still half the soap block left to make another 6 soaps. Very happy grandchild with hand made gift for family and friends.

OMG..is all i can say! This was my first time attempting to make candles! Its a great learner kit..with all the instructions, and everything you need. My first candles were amazing, multicoloured ones and everything! Although, its not true you can make 20 candles, i managed to make 4candles out of one of the two wax packet provided..and one was my own melted candle..so in reality, each pack of wax can make about three candles of each shape..6in total..but the moulds are really cool, havent lit it yet, definitly worth getting just to learn how to make it. Now am going to buy my own wax, crayola scent and get creating The BEST 20 odd quid i spent in a LONG time! The candles came out so good im taking them for my mother in law as a gift!

This kit is definitely not worth £40. I thought it might be even with the reviews of the bobbins being a bit janky but it was way worse than that. They give an uneven number of beads and the brass wire (which was 33cm too short) to attach them to the bobbins is such low quality it kept breaking. It would have been cheaper just to buy the bobbins and make the pillow with an old t-shirt. I would have been happier if the price was £15-20 then it would have reflected the quality I received.

Das Klöppel Bastelset wird in einem Karton geliefert, der auch gleichzeitig als Aufnahme für die Klöppelrolle dient. Alles drin, was man für den Anfang benötigt. Die Klöppel sind aus Plastik und müssen erst noch verschönert, also beschwert werden. Die Perlen und auch der Drath dafür liegen bei. Selbst Garn ist vorhanden. Erst die kleine Klöppelrolle mit dem mitgelieferten Stoff umspannen und festkleben, dann kann man die Klöppel mit Garn umwickeln und los gehts. Die Anleitung ist recht einfach geschrieben, Vorausetzung hierfür allerdings die englische Sprache. Für den Anfang ein schönes Set.
